Energy Ministry expects Russia’s gas output to rise 10% in 2021

VLADIVOSTOK, Sep 2 (PRIME) -- Russia’s natural gas production will rise by about 10% on the year in 2021, after falling by 9% on the year to 692.9 billion cubic meters in 2020, Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov told reporters on Thursday during the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).

“Gas production exceeds the previous year’s level now by about 13%. I think that this year, the indicator will be higher by 10% as compared with the previous year,” he said.

He said that oil production grows by 1% as compared with 2020, and that the trend should continue until the end of the year.

“In tonnes, it will amount to about 506 million tonnes this year. But everything will depend on demand and supply and on compliance with the OPEC agreement, obviously,” he said.
